Built on the outskirts of the town of Poprad and close to picturesque towns and villages, AquaCity enjoys historic surroundings, dramatic mountain scenery and easy access to three of Slovakia's National Parks, the High Tatras, the `Slovak Paradise' and Pieniny.
Within just 5 minutes' walk of AquaCity is the charming town of Spisska Sobota, a timbered village of frescoed houses around a cobbled church square. Just a few kms further on is Kezmarok, one of the centres of the Spis region, rich in history, with an abundance of churches, including the delightful wooden church.
Also nearby is the beautiful medieval walled town of Levoca, with its central town hall, claimed to be the prettiest building in Slovakia, and the church of St. James, home to the largest wooden altar in Europe at 18.6m high.
The nearby High Tatras, the world's smallest mountain range at just 24kms long, appear to burst skyward, their jagged, often snow-capped peaks towering over the horizon. The High and Low Tatras mountains provide a natural playground for skiers and those in pursuit of active pursuits, as does the Slovak Paradise, national park, with its ladders, chains and walkways, leading visitors deep into gorges, canyons and ravines.
We're delighted to be able to offer such variety and interest, right on our doorstep, though with so much going on in the resort itself, many guests forget to even set foot outside once they've checked in!
